The Mission

So...What Are You Doing?

Don't worry about it. It's a question we get all the time. We don't take offense - we know what we're doing is weird! The short answer is: we believe God's lighting a spark across the United States. It's our job to document what He's doing.
Just keep reading. We'll tell you all about it.

The Inspiration

Let each generation tell its children of Your mighty acts; let them proclaim Your power. I will meditate on Your majestic, glorious splendor and Your wonderful miracles. Your awe-inspiring deeds will be be on every tongue; I will proclaim Your greatness. Everyone will share the story of Your wonderful goodness; they will sing with joy about Your righteousness.” – Psalms 145:4-7

You know what the entire Bible is? A collection of testimonies. A testament to God’s goodness. His faithfulness. His anger at us – and His forgiveness. His never ending love. The entire inspired Word of God is…a story. A story written for our benefit. We believe that story did not end with the 1st century church. It continues to this day. But, are we telling our children of His mighty acts? Are His awe-inspiring deeds still on every tongue? Do we proclaim His greatness?

This is our goal. To create a platform where everyone will share the story of His wonderful goodness. You see, we feel like we’ve lost something. Something precious. The New Testament is largely a collection of letters from one church body to another. Do we do that today? Do we really know what’s going on in the church – in our own country? Do you know what God is up to in Maine? In Nevada? In Washington? In Florida? If you’re like most of us…no. You don’t.

Campfire Ministries exists to share the stories of what God is doing in the lives of His people across the United States. Will we eventually branch out to other nations? Lord willing, yes. But we start here. Our aim is to be a witness – to unify the body of Christ, as well as provide a platform for expressing struggles, asking for prayers, glorifying God, encouraging others, and sharing humorous stories to help lighten this earthly load.

While this ministry is not explicitly evangelical, we believe God will use the stories of His people to both encourage believers and show His unfailing love to those who haven’t experienced it for themselves. “Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the Gospel.” – Philippians 1:12

Gather ’round. Share the stories. See what God has done.

How? Just...How?

Yeah. We’re wondering that, too. Honestly? We don’t know. This is a new ministry, and we’re figuring it out as we go. (Which means we need prayer. Lots and lots of prayer!)

Our primary goal is to gather & share testimonies from all 50 states. Our missionary family travels around the country. They attempt to connect with local churches in every state. Ideally, they stay in a community for 1-2 weeks at a time. During that time, they work in that community. They get involved in local missions, and help out wherever they are needed. (Yard work. Building maintenance/projects. You know. The never-ending list of stuff that needs to get done, but no one has the time to do. Put them to work!) And, of course, they spend time encouraging the local church – sharing news of what God is doing across the country.

You know how there are different parts of the Body? Well, I’ve figured out what part we are! We’re the blood cells!!! We travel throughout the Body, bringing oxygen & nutrients to the different parts!” – Tristan Young

We may not know how to be good blood cells…yet. But, we know God created us to function without even thinking about it. We don’t have to know everything. We just know we need to go. And it seems we’re in good company: “It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going.” – Hebrews 11:8

What Are You Looking For In A Testimony?

The short answer: Anything you’re willing to share. Really. We don’t judge. We don’t decide if you’re telling the truth or not. We will listen to anyone who is willing to share. We reserve the right to not share statements we deem to be hurtful to the public. Anything else? It’s your story. Actually, it’s God’s story, He’s just writing it through you. We’re here to document it, if you’re willing. We greatly value your privacy, and will go to great lengths to make you as comfortable as possible. We are honored to be entrusted with your stories. You can remain as anonymous as you choose – we only ask that we identify the state you’re from.

We’ve discovered that most testimonies tend to fall in one of three categories:

Inspiration

The feel goods. These are the stories that tell of God’s goodness. They will leave you in awe of His presence in our lives. They’ll inspire you to tell your own story of God’s faithfulness. We all love these!

Heartbreak

Not all stories are happy ones. We’re not a, “We’re fine,” ministry. Life is hard. We share the stories of struggle. Because God’s in those, too. And He works all things to the good for those who love Him.

#FindTheHumor

Sometimes you just need a laugh! We share sights from our travels that make us chuckle. Every now & then, we’re blessed enough to capture a pearl of wisdom from a small child. Life’s too short to be serious all the time.
